Harrogate School of Art and Design

The Harrogate School of Art and Design at Harrogate College is a vibrant community of staff and students located at the Hornbeam Park Campus. The studios and workshops have a very individual and friendly atmosphere with each one of our students taught, supported and cared for by professional and committed staff.

We are a team that places the student at the centre of everything we do. We are interested in seeing the personal development of each of our students maximised to place them in a strong position to move confidently into post graduate study or employment. It is important to us and our students that creative industry employers are involved with our programmes and it is this approach which results in our excellent progression record into industry.

Students have gained national recognition for the quality of their work through the many competitions and live projects with which we engage. Our team of staff are practitioners in their own field and many are engaged in research which enhances the student experience. Both our own staff and visiting lecturers make their work, experiences and interests accessible to students through talks, publications and exhibitions. Students have educational visits both in the UK and abroad.

The school boasts excellent facilities for art, design and media courses and has a range of professional photography, graphics, ceramics and 3D workshops and studios. Students studying with us enjoy being part of the intimate Harrogate creative community whilst having the potential of Leeds city centre just a short bus or train ride away. Leeds is well known for its exciting cultural and social life and our students enjoy this dual benefit whether residing in Harrogate or Leeds.

Harrogate School of Art and Design is twinned with Hull School of Art and Design which was founded in 1861.
